Frequently asked questions

Answers about our research-grade compounds — quality and Certificates of Analysis, reconstitution and storage, ordering and delivery. All products are supplied for laboratory research use only.

About the products

What does Peptide HQ sell?

Peptide HQ supplies research peptides and related laboratory supplies for scientific and laboratory research use only. All products are intended strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory experimentation — they are not for human consumption.

What does "research use only" mean?

It means our products are supplied solely for laboratory and scientific research — for example, in-vitro studies and experimental work by researchers. They are not medicines, are not for human or animal consumption, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

What form do the peptides come in?

Research peptides are typically supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder, which is more stable for storage and shipping than a liquid. Reconstitution into solution for research work is carried out in the laboratory. See our reconstitution guide for the concentration mathematics involved.

Do you sell supplies as well as peptides?

Yes — we stock laboratory supplies such as bacteriostatic water and sterile vials alongside our research peptides.

How do I calculate the concentration of a reconstituted sample?

Concentration is the mass of peptide divided by the volume of solvent added. Our reconstitution calculator does this instantly — enter the mass in the vial and the solvent volume, and it returns the concentration in mg/mL and mcg/mL. It is a concentration tool only.

Quality & COAs

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A Certificate of Analysis is a document reporting the results of analytical testing on a specific batch of material — confirming its identity and its purity. We explain how to read one in detail in our guide to reading a COA.

Do your products come with a COA?

Yes. We publish batch Certificates of Analysis on our site, so you can review the documentation for the material before and after purchase.

How is purity verified?

Purity is independently verified by a third-party laboratory using HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography), with mass spectrometry confirming the molecular identity of the compound.

How should I evaluate a research peptide supplier?

Look for batch-specific Certificates of Analysis, independent third-party testing, a verifiable registered company, and clear research-use-only practices with no medical claims. Our supplier guide covers the full checklist.

Reconstitution & storage

What is reconstitution?

Reconstitution means dissolving a lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptide powder in a suitable solvent to produce a solution of known concentration for laboratory research. Our reconstitution guide explains the process and the concentration mathematics.

What is bacteriostatic water?

Bacteriostatic water is water containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth. It is a commonly referenced solvent for reconstituting research peptides because a reconstituted solution can be stored for longer without microbial contamination becoming a concern.

How should research peptides be stored?

Lyophilised peptides are generally stored under cold, temperature-controlled conditions for longer-term stability; reconstituted solutions are typically kept refrigerated and used within a research-appropriate timeframe. We store our peptides under temperature-controlled conditions prior to dispatch.

Ordering, shipping & returns

How long does shipping take?

Orders placed during the day are dispatched 8am the next morning, sent First Class within the UK via Royal Mail. First Class post typically arrives within 1–2 working days after dispatch, though delivery times are ultimately handled by Royal Mail. You'll be able to track your order once it's on its way.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to many countries across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, along with other regions. Certain compounds can only be sent where they are lawful, so availability varies by destination — any product that can't be shipped to your location simply won't be available to order there, and the products shown to you reflect what's available for your region.

How is my order packaged?

Your order arrives as a standard, discreet small parcel — there's no indication of the contents on the outside. Inside, your selected research vials come in branded Peptide HQ packaging, securely packed to protect them in transit

Subscriptions & discounts

Do you offer a subscription option?

Yes. Our Subscribe & Save option provides a recurring discount on eligible products, with deliveries on a regular schedule. You can manage your subscription from your account.

How does the research bundle discount work?

When you add eligible research compounds together, an automatic bundle discount applies — a larger discount for more compounds in the bundle. The applicable discount is shown clearly as you build your order.

Can I use a discount code with a subscription?

A discount code may be applied to a first subscription order, subject to our discount rules; subsequent renewal deliveries are billed at the standard Subscribe & Save price. Only one code can be used per order.

Do discounts stack?

Discounts don't all combine — generally the most beneficial single discount applies, and our system automatically calculates the best applicable price for your order. Subscribe & Save may combine with one automatic order discount as set out in our terms
